Easy Steps to Install Shower Faucet

Installing a shower faucet is not that hard to do, you do not need a plumber to do it for you. Installing it on your own can save you a lot of money and time. Before you go ahead and install the shower faucet, you need to check several things which are:

1. Make sure that there are not pipe leaks.

2. The wall must be resistant to moisture to keep the surrounding of the shower faucet dry at all times.

3. Clean the pipe thread always then use the new pipe joint compound.

Steps on how to install shower faucet:

1. Connect the shower in two ways. You can make use of copper pipes or you can choose to use PEX pipes.

2. Then turn off the water supply and create a hole in the wall. Make sure that you exactly know where to install the shower faucet.

3. Position the valve so the UP indication points up and attach the hot and cold pipes on each side of the valve. Make sure that overheating does not happen when you are welding.

4. Then place the valve in the wall and then attach the raise tube and spout pipe in the welded adapters. Use brass cap if the valve has no spout to block the outlet that is not to be used. Then to complete the installation of the valve, place the shower.

5. To place the faucet handle, slide it into the valve then place the handle screw adapter in the cartridge making use of the hexagonal key.

6. Then connect the upper outlet in the shower head supply pipe to install the shower head. Screw the shower head manually using adjustable wrench.

7. To install the spout, turn the spout on copper pipe so that the screw faces up. Using a hexagonal key, tighten the screw and then turn the spout to its normal position.

8. Then to check if there are no leaks, turn the hot and cold water supply. Then release all the air caught in the pipes by opening the lukewarm water supply.
